Get to know me

I hate having to fill out "about me" sections. Mostly because like the rest of you, I want to sound interesting and compelling. I want you to believe that I'm humorous, charming, and intelligent with just the perfect pinch of sarcasm. Just the right mix of serious, silly, and random to make you want to continue reading. I'm not sure i'll be able to convey that but in a nut shell, this is a kinda-sorta roundabout look at my extraordinarily ordinary life.

So this is me 

I'm married to my best friend, my very own hero who serves in the USAF.

We have two kiddos, Davin and Emme who literally complete a dream I never knew I had.

 

That's our dog "Flower". She's a Great Dane but is absolutely convinced that she's a Pomeranian or some other small breed dog that easily fits in your lap, on your couch, and in your bed. She is very, very wrong. 

And this is the epitome of life as a military child...waiting for daddy's plane to arrive after his last deployment to Afghanistan.

So...what else? I am super passionate about children's advocacy and I work for the state. Texas is home. I live on a military base. I love rainy days, any excuse to wear pajama's, and have an odd love of paisley prints, decorative boxes, and Russian nesting dolls.  I enjoy volunteer work, riding and working with horses, running (been more of a love-hate relationship lately-okay mostly a hate relationship),pretending like I'm crafty and being awesome. 

• A running list of likes and dislikes:
• I love a starry night
• I like fingernail polish but it doesn't like me. I swear it chips within a day every.single.time!
• I hate that I'm really bad at interrupting people in conversation. 
• I like that I'm a bit OCD about my house being clean and things being in their place.
• I dislike that I'm a bit OCD...sometimes it's exhausting.
• I like Barq's rootbeer. I wish I didn't.
• Perfectly written words. You know when you read something so beautifully written that you have to keep rereading it to make sure you absorb it.
• I hate when people use words in the wrong context! Isn't that annoying?!
• Humidity is no bueno!
• Love little things that make you think BIG.
• Seriously annoying when people make those loud, obnoxious grunting noises while lifting weights. UGGGH.
• Love me a good label maker (shush!)!
• Target...as in the store. I can never go in there and buy just one thing-Love shopping there, Hate that shopping is a monetary based activity.

I'm sure there is a lot more that can be added to this list, but we'll say this sums me up..in a nut shell.
